The A-Frame at Finch Creek

In November 2023, we took on a neglected 1970s A-frame with great bones but decades of wear. Where most saw a run-down cabin, we saw an opportunity to bring it back to life and showcase what thoughtful design and hands-on craftsmanship can achieve.

Over the course of six months, we completely transformed the property. The original structure was stripped back and rebuilt into a 1,500 sq. ft. modern retreat while maintaining its classic A-frame character. We opened the vaulted ceilings to 20 feet, added expansive picture windows for natural light, and blended rustic textures with modern amenities.

The main floor now features two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a reimagined open living room with fireplace and Frame TV, laundry, and a full kitchen designed for functionality and flow. A loft was converted into an additional private bedroom, giving the space versatility for families and groups.

Beyond the interiors, we extended the living experience outdoors. We built in gathering spaces with a custom firepit area, installed a 7-person hot tub, and maximized the natural privacy of the site with direct access to Finch Creek.

This project was about more than just updating a cabin — it was about rethinking how a 1970s A-frame could meet the expectations of today’s guests. The result is a property that blends character and comfort, showing what can be achieved when design vision and craftsmanship come together.
